Green Computing

The Computer Center is committed to contributing and actively participating in achieving the goals of the university, which works to move towards the concept of a "green university", by working on the principles of green information technology and adopting environmentally friendly behaviors and practices that reduce negative impacts on it.

The computer center has many green computing initiatives, solutions and procedures that support these concepts:

• Websites and applications development

• Electronic transformation in various services and transactions, and the development of electronic systems that achieve environmental friendliness by replacing the need for paper and computerizing procedures, thus reducing paper consumption and the resulting negative impact on the environment..

• Smart University

• Rationalize energy consumption and allocate resources

1. Distribution of printers and various devices to serve more than one department and employee for the purposes of saving energy and cost.

2. دElectronic meetings provide the capabilities of holding electronic meetings and meetings that will reduce the costs of meetings from energy consumed in lighting, heating, cooling, etc. During the Corona pandemic, 1,862 electronic meetings were held.

3. The use of cloud computing greatly reduces energy consumption and carbon emissions and saves resources, as the computer center uses electronic cloud services to host some sites and systems.
